AM Bus & Truck

Zimbabwe

A Premium Shop success story

AM Bus and Truck (Pvt) Ltd was started by Anthony Malakou in 1991 as a small family business. Today the company is the leading distributor for European truck and trailer parts in Zimbabwe. The company has always prided itself with providing quality spares at affordable prices and has worked closely with its customers and suppliers for over 30 years to create a product range second to none. After an intensive and close dialogue with Diesel Technic, the first steps were taken for a successful partnership. Fast-moving items were identified and the product range of DT Spare Parts was expanded to suit the local market. The advent of DT Spare Parts allowed the option of supplying both the original part as well as giving an option for a more economical, quality aftermarket alternative.

From its beginnings as a supplier of DAF parts for the local bus industry AM Bus & Truck has grown into a multiple branch distributor of the entire DT Spare Parts range of European heavy vehicles and trailers.

The Premium Shop was launched in August 2018 and has already convinced a huge number of users of its advantages. Elliot Magadzire is a faithful supporter of the DT Spare Parts loyalty programme. He has worked at a logistics and agricultural company for over five years, and his employer is a customer of AM Bus & Truck, which is how he became aware of the Premium Shop.

The procurement of DT Spare Parts products in Zimbabwe would generate a reward in the form of vouchers for airtime (phone scratch cards). In addition to the normal salary that the employees receive, these vouchers are an attractive bonus that offers great added value.

The image of an OEM

Together with AM Bus & Truck, a local programme was established where the collected crowns from the Premium Shop can be exchanged for these vouchers. The “airtime” can also be used as virtual money to pay in supermarkets or other shops. This concept convinced Elliot and he became an avid user of the Premium Shop. That's why he was also at the last Partner Academy in Harare, where he explained to the other participants how they can redeem their collected crowns and what benefits they can gain.

A brand loyalty program like no other

On the question of whether the Premium Shop in Zimbabwe is successful, Elliot has a clear opinion: “As far as I'm concerned, it is! I'm always explaining to other purchasing and workshop staff how to get crowns and that they should buy more products from DT Spare Parts. It's a win-win situation, you receive products in high quality and are rewarded for your brand loyalty. No other company has such a programme.”

Elliot is not only a big fan of the Premium Shop, he is also impressed by the DT Spare Parts product brand: “DT Spare Parts has an image in Zimbabwe of an OEM, there is a wide range of other spare parts brands in Zimbabwe, mostly cheaper brands, surprisingly the quality is inferior but the prices are high. DT Spare Parts is a brand that my company and I trust, it’s our first choice!”
