The Parts Specialists from Diesel Technic – support for workshop professionals

What does ‘PS’ actually stand for? Does it stand for horsepower, the power of engines ... or for premium support for professional mechanics? At Diesel Technic, it simply stands for ‘Parts Specialists’, because Diesel Technic is the parts expert from Germany, especially for automotive parts and accessories for commercial vehicles.

All services for Diesel Technic’s end customers are bundled under the ‘Parts Specialists’ brand, but how do you become part of the Parts Specialists community? It’s simple: it all starts with a free registration in the Premium Shop, the brand loyalty programme for workshops. Every purchase of a DT Spare Parts brand product is rewarded with crowns that can be exchanged for vouchers, rewards and merchandise in the Premium Shop.

Once 5,000 crowns have been collected, you are automatically invited to join the Parts Specialists Club. Here there are additional benefits, such as access to the Partner Portal to use the VIN search, free PS Clubwear, birthday and Christmas presents and participation in exclusive events, such as a truck racing weekend with a visit to the S.L. TruckSport pit and a souvenir photo with driver Sascha Lenz. He relies on products from the DT Spare Parts brand, which sponsors his racing team.

The Parts Specialists have been supporting Diesel Technic’s end customers worldwide since 2017. The team now consists of 22 people, including exclusively employees with a technical background from the company’s Aftersales Support, Technology and Development, Quality Assurance and Customer Service departments. The most prominent faces are probably Lars (team captain) and Kevin, but Niklas and Rolf are also well known in the community. The four Parts Specialists can regularly be seen in the PS Tips videos, in which they show other workshop professionals a trick or two.

Just like the other six Parts Specialists from the subsidiaries, they are as close as possible to the end customer in order to guarantee the best possible service and make everyday workshop life easier. This also includes visits to end customers in the workshops and fleets, which enables direct dialogue. This local workshop support will be expanded even further in the future.

Both at the German headquarters in Kirchdorf and in the subsidiaries, a back office team has also been set up to process all enquiries from Diesel Technic end customers and provide technical support. End customers can submit all technical questions relating to DT Spare Parts products via the Parts Specialists’ own HelpDesk. Recurring questions are collected and incorporated into the assembly instructions or tutorial videos.

Under the motto ‘Practical tips for mechanics’, the Parts Specialists provide new hints and tips on various product groups of the DT Spare Parts brand every month: ps-web.tv. In this way, problems during installation or later during use in the vehicle are avoided in advance, saving a lot of stress and trouble. More than 60 workshop clips can be found on the Diesel Technic YouTube channel, which is now followed by over 13,000 subscribers. With over 3 million views and more than 14,000 likes, that’s more than enough reason to celebrate.

And how do you get the horsepower on the road? Quite simply: The Parts Specialists visit the professionals in their workshops together with the distribution partners, e.g. over 270 workshops were visited in Spain in one year. This initial personal contact is often the starting point for an unfiltered exchange with the Parts Specialists. For Diesel Technic, this direct, open and honest feedback offers the great advantage of understanding the end customer’s challenges and developing a suitable solution.

The goal of the Parts Specialists is very clear: they want to offer the best possible aftersales service for the DT Spare Parts brand in the entire aftermarket. For distribution partners of the DT Spare Parts brand, the Parts Specialists provide additional sales support by helping their customers in an uncomplicated and timely manner. The result is satisfied end customers and increasing sales of DT Spare Parts brand products.
